Here are three pages of Supergirl layouts I did last week. I'm hoping to get to tighten the pencils up later this week to take to Baltimore Con with me.
I did two issues of Sigil for Cross Gen and one was pretty much an all out fight issue, Chuck Dixon is great at writing those! These two spreads show the lead up to the fight and one cool moment in the fight!
I did this about a decade ago for Marvel. They were doing more cartoony stuff at the time and asked me to work in that type of style. I had a great time doing the few jobs I did in this style and would love to play with it again some day.
I just had to post this! I drew this shot for a friend of mine a few years ago and my good buddy Mike Atiyeh (colorist supreme) just colored it up for the same mutual friend! Wow! I love it!
I was going through the art portfolio I take with me to conventions and this page is one that I always get asked about selling. I just can't do it though. One it's my favorite page of the book and two I have all 22 pages since I did pencils and inks and just can't part with the best page of the book. I'm also a huge, huge Hawkman fan!
I'm so jacked to hear that Ryan Reynolds is playing Green Lantern! My favorite actor playing my favorite DC Character! And on www.joblo.com the pic they used next to Ryan is one I did! To me that is the coolest!
Along with the Wolverine 100 cover Project I also worked up a card that will be given out to a new member. I love doing stuff like this! Nothing like getting free art for joining a great cause!
I was honored to be asked again this year to be a part of the "100 Project" for the Hero Initiative.
This is where the H.I. asks 100 artists to draw on a limited edition blank cover comic. Last year it was Hulk #1 and this year it is the new Wolverine series.
I hope my contribution raises some decent money for the charity!
The con is less then a week away so I thought I'd share the art I did for this year's program book! Be sure to stop by artist's alley to say "hi" and get your stuff signed or get a con sketch at a great cost!
Here it is the cover to the Jungle Lords Ashcan mini-comic! I'm picking them up from the printer this week and they'll be on sale at Heroes-con! Stop on by my table and pick one up!
I worked on a Weapon X mini for Marvel a few years back and thought I'd post up some of my favorite pages from it. The first one up is a nice group shot of a lot of cool Marvel Heroes! This takes place in the future so some of the costumes might look a little different.
Jungle Lords is a personal project that I'll have an ashcan for at Heroes-Con! With the popularity of the Jungle Girl genre coming back into play at various companies and my friend Budd Root, creator of the original Cave Woman, as my inspiration a friend of mine and I decided to come up with our own take. So here is another sneak peak from it!
Looking through some of my pencils the other day when I was backing up my computer. One of my favorite jobs was World War 3 for DC. I got to draw a lot of characters I've always loved. Ray Snyder did a great job inking this job as well!
I did this a little while back and I was just supposed to do the pencils on it like I did. I still like it and would love to see it inked and colored at some point but have no idea if and when that'll happen.
So in my spare time I've been working on my own take on the "jungle tales" theme that is going around. I'm a huge fan of Budd Root's Cavewoman and now with Sheena back and Jungle Girl out there I thought I might take a go at it. Here is part of page 1 of the ashcan I'll be premiering at Heroes-Con this June. Just a hint of the splash page ;).
Yeah, it's a strange team-up but it made for one hell of a fun assignment to draw! Here are the pencils to the pages I did! Keith Champagne did one hell of a job inking me on this!
This was one of my favorite jobs! I love Superman, no I really love the guy! I've drawn him before but that was back in the mid '90's so getting to draw him again was awesome. I'd love to do more with the Man of Steel!
Last year for the annual Free Comic Book Day I did a 10 page job for Dynamite's Project Super Powers. This was shot from my pencils, they were darkened to look inked, but I'd love to see these inked some day as well.
Who knew blogging could be so much fun, well besides the millions out there already doing it!
So I figured I post up another image before I call it a night. This is a page from a Green Lantern sequence I started but then got derailed from due to other work. I would love to see this inked, hint, hint ;)
What can I say...I love Animal Man. I've always thought that his costume design was one of the coolest. This was a commission I did a while ago and am still really proud of so for my first post on my blog I thought it would be cool to kick it off with this!
